My first Mission Trip!

Well its been a while since I've written just been somewhat busy with church, school, work, my social life, and having friends visit. At the moment my best friend is visiting from A&M while on her spring break. Today we went to Tulsa and tomorrow Im going to take her to all the sites around OKC. It should be a great day! I def. am ready for my spring break to start. My boss said we could all have the week off and boy am I excited except I really should be working and saving my money for my first mission trip. Yep its official Im going to Mexico to Pedris Negris with the singles ministry in May and I cannot wait. I've always wanted and could see myself doing mission work all over the world but never was the right time until now. God has placed me in the best position of my life right now. I use to question him but now I know he's got wonderful things in store for me so I just have to be patient and wait like he wants me to. Lately I've been so bummed by all the people who are so overwhelmed with their life in this world. Im not talking about what they've become or accomplished but the petty junk. It's like our society is one big competition in everything. Sometimes I just want to be able to get away...it sounds crazy but whenever I could just sit on top of a huge mountain watching the sunset or laying on the beach watching the sun rise over the ocean with the breeze falling onto my face. I guess this all relates to the adventursome side of me. Im on this little kick where after I graduate I dont want to take the norm and find a job-I'd rather take all the money I own and just go travel.See the beauty God created for us all over the world. I crave that lifestyle so bad. No cell phone-No facebook-nothing. Just me and God.

Future guitarist in the works!!!

Im sure some of you know my brother and how ridiculouly talented he is at pretty much anything with his hands. He can also draw and do photography like none other. He can pick up an instrument and have it mastered within months it seems like. I'd like to think that I have some of that in my genes and somewhere I might but I guess I have just never been determined or had the time. Im in the works of buying a friends Fender guitar from him and taking lessons to learn. I just think its about time that I start a hobby that would be very beneficial and quite fun after I learn some songs!!! I had another great weekend-it was very uplifting and got to spend some good quality time with my family! Im excited for this week to come, I've got my friend Sean coming up from Florida to come visit then the weekend after I have got my best friend Jamie and her boyfriend Chad from Texas A&M to come visit me as well!!! I absolutely cannot wait!!!! Hope you have a great week =)

And the Winner is.......

Ciara and I just now got done watching the Oscars, yes I know its now Tuesday but we've both been busy! It was alright-half the time I've never heard of the movie or be quite honest I'm not that familiar with all the actors/actresses these days. Lately I've been in the mood to watch those classic movies. I was excited to finally finish watching Gone With the Wind. Its a three hour movie that took me three weeks to finish! haha-Jess and I went last night to see Atonement here in Stillwater. I didn't think it was that great, kinda dark but aparently it was a good one cause it won alot of awards, but what do I know! I think my next movie choice will be Casablanca or Singing in the Rain. Im excited about tomorrow to get to go to Edmond to finish up hearing these wonderful speakers at Memorial Road and to see many familiar faces! I've started looking and searching for my internship that I get to do before I graduate so Im fixing to apply for the Navy internship which is in Hawaii, Guam, Japan, or Cuba. I really would love to go to Hawaii or Japan. You spend roughly three months there doing whatever it is they want you to do. They pay you 200 dollars a week to live off of and pay for you to live. They also pay for your plane ticket there and back. I really hope I can get it. It would be an amazing adventure to go on!!!! Well thank goodness its Wednesday. The week is almost over and then its another great weekend-cannot wait.I've got some great friends coming from Texas and hopefully Florida to see me and visit the great state of Oklahoma. If any of you have any great ideas of restaurants or places that represent Oklahoma well let me know. I want to give them a little taste of this state.
Life is great and I am completely blessed and thankful for everything God has and is doing in my life. Happy Hump Day!

Simple Joys of Life

Its amazing sometimes how the little things in life can please you soo much. For instance, yesterday night a couple friends and I went to Walgreens and I got a new toothbrush! LOL..I was so excited to use it and sure enough its amazing. This week has gone by so fast I can't believe it! God has done so much in my life this week with the comfort, strength, and guidance he has given me. When things get hard or tests of faith come my way I have been turning to Philippians 4:6-7. I am very excited about this weekend. Great things are sure to come from it I know. I just got to get through today though. Usually Fridays are my easiest days but today not so much. Got a test, homework due, presentations to attend and appointments. After my amazing sleep I got last night though Im good to go! Have a great weekend-

Should be studying but instead Im blogging!

I'm just starting to love Sundays! I don't know how productive I am but after all it is a day of rest. I've been recently going to church at memorial road with my brother in Edmond and have absolutely loved it! It's such an uplifting place to be. I had to get up at seven to get there on time but it was completely worth it!!! Today some tough news hit me that affects someone very close to me. I've been in constant prayer and I know God has a plan and purpose for all of this. It's been a rough road these past couple of weeks with everything going on in my life but yet at the same time I have to say it is a blessing because I am seeking God like I never have before. God is showing and putting friends in my life to help suppport me and let me grow spiritually for myself and with them as well. Its very cool to watch and see how God is working in my life. Don't get me wrong I still have alot of work to do and struggle terribly every single day but I know he is there to protect me, guide me, and confort me! I've got a kinda crazy week with 3 tests-and yes I should be studying right now but after 7pm Im pretty much worthless. I do better if I head to bed then get up early and study up till my test. I'm going to try to do very beneficial things for myself this week. Be in constant prayer, read my Bible several times a day, do good works for the benefit of others, look at the positive in everything, eat healthy, work-out, study hard so I can get out of school soon, and being with the people I love the most! God Bless-

Today Not So Much

Other than the crappy weather and events of these past couple of nights I'm not the most cheerful I could be. Im stuck in a rut in life where I can't do much about it. My brother today gave me great advice he said life can't always be happy and wonderful. You have to go through rough times sometimes to get back with God. I think sometimes if life is going great we forget about God and what he's done for us. More that I think about that its so true! I've always struggled with wanting to have a grip on my life and control of it basically. Everyday planned out and wanting to know whats going to happen next but Im starting to learn that I cannot be that way. I envy friends who can just fly by the seat of their pants and always go with the flow. I can do that to an extent but if things aren't going great or stuff is tugging at my heart I am quick to get irrational and upset that I cannot do a darn thing about it. My mother knows me best and she made a great point that maybe God is testing my patients and trying to learn to give it all to God and he will handle it. I've pretty much spent the whole day in prayer. I went out and finally got me a new Bible. It was much needed. I feel hurt and confused at times as well today. Everytime I get this way I've been trying to pray and I can already feel God answering my prayers. I guess this is all a part of growing up and growing spiritually. Well Im off to Jessica's house for some r&r.
