NASM Here I Come!

I signed up today to take the National Academy of Sports Medicine test. AKA the bad boy of all personal training certifications. I forked over 650 bucks for it and now I've got 120 days to study my butt off. I've heard it's really hard but I've gotten a lot of good advice and with all the health classes I took in college I think I will be ok as long as I over study. It felt like Christmas today for me because it's finally happening and I want this so bad. I've never been so motivated to get my study material in the mail and start studying! I also will go down to Houston in March for a workshop to get more hands on training. I'm just hoping that this will all work out and be successful while helping people as well. I really want to start an at home personal training business. A good friend of mine had a personal trainer come to her home three days a week and would bring all of the equipment and she loved it! I figure for women who are stay at home moms, people who are too self conscious to get to the gym, or people who can't afford a gym membership plus a personal trainer could really benefit from it!For now though, off to the books!

Snowed In!

Well today Brandon had to work then we were going to head home to my parents house. I went with Jonathan to his parent's house because it is closer to my brothers house which would make it easier for him to come pick me up. Unfortunately my brother could not get out of his neighborhood so he's stuck at home and I'm at Jonathan's families house. It's been really hard because I want to be with my family so bad right now and knowing I can't wake up and be with them is hard! I know that staying put is the best thing right now and am thankful none of my family members are out in this but I sure do hope the roads improve a bit so we can get home tomorrow! We were suppose to head to Tipton to the grandparents but it might not be until Saturday before we can do that. We shall see though! I hope everyone is safe and sound and warm! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

Biggest Loser

DANNY WON! He was by far my favorite throughout the whole show. Just a humble and positive guy. It doesn't surprise me at all that he was from Oklahoma. Between him and Rudy I wasn't sure who was actually going to win but once he got on the scale I knew he had it in the bag! His starting weight was 430 pounds and by the finale he weighed 191 pounds. Lost 239 pounds!! I read in the Oklahoman that last weeks episode where they all ran the marathon was actually filmed about 7 weeks ago. Danny said that he was working out about 6 hours a day up until the finale and even ran 5 miles with his wife on Thanksgiving day! He said he was so ready for it all to be over so that he could just start maintaining his weight instead of drastically loosing so much. Way to go Danny!!

Thanksgiving Week!

I am starting to get a little sad that I soon have to pack up my fall decorations and put away my favorite smelling candles and start thinking about Christmas. Don't get me wrong I love Christmas time but I think this year I am going to try and not get too excited about it so early on. Every year I get so excited about Christmas that as soon as Thanksgiving is over I indulge myself into ridiculous amounts of Christmas music and movies and decorations that by the time Christmas gets here I'm already burnt out. I always wonder what it would be like to live somewhere where there is an abundance of spruce trees and snow unlike here where its usually mild and 70. I like to dream that I would be much more into Christmas if that were the case. So this year I plan to take on Christmas bits and pieces at a time. So here's to you, my favorite season of all of some pretty fall pictures before Thanksgiving is gone.

I Can't Wait To Be OLD!!!!!

So last night Jonathan and I were figuring out something to watch and we came upon this movie that he had and neither of us had seen it. It's called Young at Heart which is a documentary about these elderly people who are in a choir singing top hits around the world. Yes, these 70-80 something year old people getting to travel to various continents singing is amazing to me! This movie was truly touching and inspiring. Of course some of them sound bad and some have facial hair but aside that its wonderful. I highly recommend it. Besides who could pass up cute old men singing Fix You by Coldplay.

I Can't Help It!!

Ok yes this is another post about my favorite place on earth, DISNEY WORLD! You are probably tired of reading about my many Disney posts so you can stop reading now if you want to. Last year I got to go to DW twice and once around Christmas time. I highly recommend going around that time just go the week before Christmas when the crowds haven't come in yet for the Holidays. Anyhoo I read many Disney Park blogs and news websites with updates to rides and refurbs and rumors of new additions to the parks. I AM A COMPLETE NERD. It's ok you can make fun of me! I will at some point in my life move back down there and work again for the mouse! It was just too much fun. Back to my point I found this cute video advertising the parks at Christmas but never saw it as a commercial so I thought I would share with you!

One of those days....

More like one of those parts of my life where nothing has gone like I thought it would. Has anyone ever been in this position where you ask God what the heck is going on? Lately, I've just felt like something isn't right or that things don't feel right like they should. I don't feel like I belong here, but I'm not sure where I do belong. I guess life is a constant struggle and I have to keep fighting.

Wedding Pictures!

Wonderfully Said

Wedding Time!!!

Today is my best friend and college roommate's wedding. She has dated Tyler for over 4 years so its about time! It's been pretty crazy these past couple of days and I'm starting to run on low but it's been really fun. She is having the wedding in Kingfisher outside by our church. We are just praying come 7 o'clock that its not raining and the weather is good. This morning we had our bridal breakfast and now off to get my hair did. These are some pictures of her and Tyler.

Harry Potter Land

Universal Studios in Orlando, FL are making a Harry Potter Land called the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Its suppose to be pretty cool and should be done sometime next year. Walt Disney World and Universal are big theme park rivals but I think next year Universal will get a lot of the Disney crowds unless Disney comes out with a new attraction but that's not going to happen. Our family is going back to Orlando in 2011 and hopefully we can drop by and see this wonderful place. Also Disney released a statement about the expansion of Fantasyland. It's going to look amazing when it's done but not sure how I feel about the iconic Dumbo being placed in a big tent and getting rid of Toontown. My Disney nerd just came out. I apologize. Anyhoo, here is two videos of the Harry Potter park and the new pictures of the future Fantasyland.

This article is from WDWMagic.com
Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo detailed plans for future lands, attractions and adventures that will be delighting Disney guests for years to come, at the first D23 Expo. Most notable among the announcements were the confirmation of an all-new Star Tours attraction and the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.

"Storytelling is the DNA of Disney dreams and we're always exploring new ways to tell new stories in new places," Rasulo told a crowd at the Anaheim Convention Center in California before taking them on a "behind-the-magic" tour of their favorite Disney destinations.

Rasulo announced that a new 3-D version of the tremendously-popular "Star Tours" attraction will debut at the Disneyland Resort and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2011. Based on the iconic Lucasfilm "Star Wars" films, the attraction will include immersive new elements that will take guests to many familiar places in the Star Wars galaxy.

For Walt Disney World in Florida, Rasulo outlined plans for the largest expansion in the history of the Magic Kingdom, vastly increasing the size of Fantasyland by 2013. Guests will soon be able to:

* Visit their favorite Disney Princess in her castle, cottage, or chateau to share a dance with Cinderella; celebrate Sleeping Beauty's birthday with the Good Fairies; or join Belle in an enchanting story performance in the Beast's castle library.
* Be Our Guest and dine in one of three enchanted rooms inside the Beast's castle.
* Fly with Dumbo high above brand new circus grounds, twice the size of the existing attraction with a new interactive, three-ring circus tent.
* Journey under the sea with Ariel, The Little Mermaid, in her very own attraction - also opening at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim in 2011.
* Meet Tinker Bell and her friends in the magical world of Pixie Hollow.
Check out this link for all the details on the new Fantasyland!

So long Patrick!

Good-bye Patrick Swayze!!!

Week 3 of P90X

Well I am currently in the middle of my 3rd week doing P90X. I can't believe I've stuck with it and now I am this far! It's been hard work and many many many days of soreness. It's totally worth it though and after a while the soreness feels sorta good cause I guess you know its working! After this week I will have only 9 weeks left of it. I will say I wish I would have taken a before picture of me but I couldn't bring myself to it and I forgot! Yesterday I was looking at myself in the mirror to see my progress and it was somewhat hard to tell just because I have alot of fat on me. I got somewhat discouraged for a minute but then I realized that my body isn't what it use to be. A couple of years ago if I did this program by week 3 I would have already been ripped but as I get older the body just isn't the same. I was never fat just flabby and let all my muscle go. So now looking in the mirror I know that I am hard on myself and its probably hard to tell just looking at myself. I did try on my bridesmaids dress and it zipped up perfectly!!! A month or so ago I couldn't even zip half of it up! So I know the more and more as I go along with this program the results will be wonderful!

Jonathan and I are doing it together and its great having a partner with you to push you and encourage you. Anyone who does this needs alot of that! Plus even on the days you dont feel like working out you've got an accountability partner there to get you up and doing it. Everytime I complete a workout I feel so good!

I think the key to it all is sticking with it all 6 days for 12 weeks and eating healthy is the most important. I am to the point now where my stomach has shrunk and I just don't have those sweet tooth or junk food cravings anymore. Even if someone gave me a harmless cookie I don't want it because its just not worth it to me anymore. I do still have a cheat meal once a week and that is usually on Sundays. Also we bought big 1/2 gallon jug water bottles from Wal-Mart and try to drink it everyday while working out and now I love to drink and sip on it all day and usually lug it around where ever I go.

Today I was moving and reorganizing a bunch of stuff in and out of my room and hauling some furniture upstairs and downstairs and I already couldn't believe how much more strength I had and how much more in shape I was. It was a great feeling.

Thats all I have for now.

Making Changes

Well today is my first day unemployed again. My summer internship with Capitol Hill ended on Friday. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. I think after getting all rested up from it next week I will start to really miss the kids! I need to start job searching so if any of you know of people hiring let me know!

My best friend is getting married September 19th and I cannot fit into the bridesmaids dress at all. So starting today I am doing P90X (because I cannot afford a gym membership right now). I bought all healthy food last night and we shall see how it goes. I have no choice but to tone up and slim down or I won't get into that dress.

That's really all I have for now. Here are some pics of the teens this summer at camp!

NO MORE POLLUTION!

Please look at these photos!!

Time Flies!

I can't believe we are already heading into the last part of May! Being at work everyday sure does make time fly. Work is going pretty good. We are still in the planning and training portion of it. We write curriculum everyday and are organizing different areas of the church while making house visits to get to know members of the church. There are 4 girls and 4 guys interning with our two leaders who are the youth minister and the elementary coordinator. We have a lot of fun up there every day. We just have two more weeks of planning then the summer program kicks off. I am really looking forward to having the kids up there everyday but I'm sure some day's I'll regret saying that. Everyday Sunday and Thursday night are our church nights and all of us teach a Bible class. I got assigned to the high school girls which I'm somewhat nervous about.

I'm excited that tomorrow night I FINALLY get to go see THE LION KING. I feel like the whole world has seen it by now. Also Friday my family and I are going down to Dallas for the Byron Nelson Tournament. I'm really really excited about it. This is where I went last year and got my inspiration to want to play golf.

I finally got moved out of my house in Stillwater. It took all day last Saturday while taking a huge trailer load back to Kingfisher to store in my parents barn. After the house was clean and empty it was a bittersweet moment. I lived in that house for 3 years with Ciara, the best roommate I've ever had! She got a job with Conoco Philips in Bartlesville but just bought a house in Owasso. She is getting married in September, which I'm really excited about! I'm her maid of honor so If any of you guys got any good ideas for bach parties or fun things to do let me know! Also what some of you have done to help the bride out. I'm not quite sure what my complete role is.

That's all I have for now! Have a safe and fun Memorial Weekend!

Update

Today I started my new job for the summer interning at Capitol Hill CoC which is an inner city church south of downtown OKC. I have been volunteering there for quite a while now and when I heard about the summer intern program I jumped on it! The whole month of May we are in training and planning to get ready for the summer program. Then starting in June we will have anywhere from 40-60 inner city children everyday at the church for the summer program. I am really excited but at the same time it will be draining and rough at times. Just from my experience of teaching there on Sunday nights I can't imagine what its going to be like some days having them the whole day!I'm really looking forward to it and it's nice we all get the whole month of May to pray and mentally and physically get ready for it! Their are 7 interns total and two head interns who are leading the whole program. I'll try to report on here every once in a while to let ya know how things are going.

Chernobyl Today: A Creepy Story told in Pictures

So I came across this really interesting story about the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster in Ukraine. It's considered to be the worst nuclear power plant disaster in history. It resulted in a severe release of radioactivity into the environment. The blast itself directly killed 56 people but the after math of the radiation has killed over 4,000 people with cancer and 600,000 people have suffered from the exposure. Take a look at this link.

Sonic....not so much

Yes, I'm sure after I post this blog I'll get many disagreements and disgusts for bashing on an American favorite, Sonic. Before I go on my rant about Sonic I do want to clarify not all things about Sonic are bad.Well its all bad but some things aren't as bad. No matter where you are nobody's drinks seem to taste better than at Sonic and especially during happy hour. You will continue to see me at Sonic on a weekly basis getting my favorite strawberry slush. Now for the main point of the post is the food at Sonic. I remember when I was little we always went and got the brown bag special at Sonic for really cheap. I know Sonic has fairly cheap and fast food but after tonight I never was turned off from a fast food joint so harshly than tonight. Jonathan and I were watching Biggest Loser ironically when we decided to get Sonic. It seemed to fit our budget and it was right down the street. Its crazy how sometimes if you add convenience and ease to the mix you'll almost surpass all of your rules and beliefs just to knock off the hassle and time. We normally try not to eat unhealthy stuff but since we've both been tight on money some nights we've just had to eat cheap. Also it's kind of been a running joke/thing to eat junk food on Biggest Looser night after one night realizing that's what we've been doing on Tuesday nights.

So I went tonight and got us two chicken sandwiches that had bacon on it and ranch I think. Also sometimes my eyes are bigger than my stomach so I thought what the heck I'll order tater tots and onion rings. After getting back and sorting out the food nothing looked appealing about the whole meal, except my drink! While watching the show and inhaling my sandwich I started to notice just how awful this sandwich tastes! Not only was the sandwich terrible but the side items had so much salt on them I almost felt my arteries clogging at the moment. The bun was completely soaked in grease and the bottom bun had charcoal nastiness all over it. I kept thinking just finish this off so you won't be hungry later. I decided to take off the bun and try to eat the meat but the look and smell of the bacon and cheese completely appalled me. Their was nothing real looking about the cheese. It almost looked like those toy cheeseburgers that every little girl had to go in their little play kitchen. Then the bacon just smelled like it had been sitting out since breakfast and tasted like it too. Anyhoo, after all that I just threw it away and gave up. I even had to go wash my hands just to get that fatty, greasy smell off of them. If you ever want to be turned off from fast food just go stand behind a McDonald's and that smell should do it for ya. Sorry for the venting but I just had to let it be known. Now I shall leave you all with some great nutrition facts from some local joints!

SONIC:
Sonic Blast is 980 calories and 45 grams of fat.
Ched 'R' Bites are 360 calories and 21 grams of fat.

Chili's:
Boneless Buffalo Chicken Salad is 910 calories and 58 GRAMS OF FAT!
Oldtimer Burger is 880 calories and 51 grams of fat!
Chicken Crispers is 1880 calories and 130 grams of fat!
Molten Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream is 1270 calories and 62 grams of fat!

Actually Chick-Fil-A is not that bad and probably one of the healthier fast food chains!

Ok so I'm tired of posting this stuff but you should go to your favorite place and get the nutrition facts, you'll be shocked!!

KFC Bowl Reality:

one week later...

It's crazy how the past two weeks have flown by for me at least. Well last Monday night we all got in from our big trip! It was pretty amazing and everyday since I've been missing my family like crazy and Disney World. We all had so much fun together even though it was extremely tiring. The last night we were there we went to Magic Kingdom and they had Extra Magic Hours for all guests who stays at a Walt Disney World Resort so all of us cousins ended up staying up until 3am riding rides. My feet hurt me so badly that night that the pain was starting to shoot up into my knees! It was worth it though. We also got to see Kurt Herbstreit and sit right behind him and his family during the Lion King show. My family has already decided that in 2011 were all going back again. Looks like we've started a new tradition! My brother being the photographer has most of the pictures so I'll get ahold of them and post them soon!

Heading to Disney World.........again

Listen to the music!!

Yes, I know it's getting quite ridiculous how often I'm going but this time the whole Haynie family is going, all 17 of us! We're heading out tomorrow and coming back next Monday. I'm really looking forward to it because many family members have never been and I can't wait to see it through their eyes. Plus I have a couple little cousins who will absolutely love it! I've just been praying that everything goes smoothly with getting down there and just trying to get around with that many people going. I'm sure it'll be a blast. Might send a prayer up for us that everything goes well and everyone is safe traveling! Have a great Spring Break!!!

Never Heard Better!!!!

I'm sure you've all seen this but I just came across this and was BLOWN away by how talented these little girls were. Plus I've never heard it sung better! The two girls on the right are 6, the two in the middle are 7, and the one on the left is 8.

By the way, don't try to you tube them or Google them because after watching them with other stuff their just little annoying girls!

Pretty Neat!

All through college when I lived with Ciara my roommate we loved to have friends over while cooking and socializing. My roommate just has the talent for coooking. She can always go into the kitchen and throw something together without even having to look in a cookbook. It probably also helps watching the Food Network religiously. I however am not so good. If I can follow a recipe ingredient for ingredient then it usually turns out fine. All these years when my mom and grandmothers and aunts would work away in the kitchen I never had the interest to learn. I regret that a lot now! Anyhoo lately I've been preferring to eat and cook at home rather than eating out so I want to learn new and healthy recipes. I am always stumbling upon the internet and everytime I come to a new food blog I get all giddy trying to find some great new dishes to try. I do get frustrated because half of them are tempting yet TERRIBLE and unhealthy for you. I did find this food blog search engine where at least maybe someone will have a healthy food blog but I thought I would share the link with everyone. Pretty cool stuff!

My Weird Dreams!

I don't know about you but I am quite the vivid dreamer. I dream every single night and they are completely out there! Actually the Haynie Family is all a bunch of weird dreamers. We've been known to sit around the table telling all of our stories and falling to the floor laughing because they are so weird that they are funny. Plus my dad and brother are excellent story tellers! Most of my dreams are quite random but sometimes I've been getting some scary nightmarish ones that just haunt me the whole next day. I remember so much detail to them that it just puts me in a funk all day. I hate it so much! My Memaw said when she's stressed she has horrible nightmares so who knows maybe I'm stressed! Anyhoo I have to tell you about my dream last night because its been on my mind all day. I won't go into details because I don't want you to think I'm weird. Yesterday I had cleaned the stove with some oven cleaner not knowing how toxic the stuff actually is and inhaled some to end up giving me a big headache by evening. About 10:30 I decided to hit the sack and try to get some sleep. Usually I don't have dreams that quickly after I fall asleep but I think it was around midnight when I awoke from my dream. The dream was basically about all my family and friends who were in Edmond and all of the sudden a war broke out in the states. Somebody was firing these huge missiles across the sky and it seemed like they were heading towards Texas. It just looked like the 4th of July in the sky. Quite scary actually cause we all thought at any second our house was going to get bombed. I remember thinking "if I die at least everyone I love is dying too!" Well the dream went on much longer it seemed with extremely out there stuff but to top it of when I went to bed a helium balloon somehow crept in there with me! You might know where this is going. Just when I was at the climax of my dream when missiles and bullets and fire bombs where flying everywhere that stupid balloon just had to come close enough to the full blast ceiling fan to hit it about 10 times to make the LOUDEST noise ever! It sounded just like bullets going off. Scared me to death cause its pitch black when I woke up and couldn't see a thing. Finally when my eyes adjusted I could see the darn balloon floating around. At first I was just livid that a stupid balloon could scare me so badly, but then it was just funny how I could have crazy dreams and that could add to the effects of the dream!

Tea Anyone?

I stumbled upon these pictures but not sure the source of where they exactly came from. I have a huge fear of heights so I definitely doubt I could do this. Also if you go to this website you can read about one mans journey up the mountain with his wife. It's a long read but extremely interesting!

First you hike up to the west peak then if you want to hike to the Tea House at the top of the south peak then you must do all of this to get there!

Its basically a ladder with chains to hold on to.

Then you climb up another ladder type. If you loose your grip you're gone.

All you have to hold on to is a rusty old chain with old wooden planks to keep you alive.

Must be careful when people are passing you by heading back down the mountain.

Almost there!

Pretty cool but not sure its worth it. I wonder if the people who work there do that every single day?
